想要吃甘牌燒鵝很久了! 因為聽說鏞記每況愈下,一樂燒鵝服務態度太惡劣,現在想吃燒鵝,反而不知道要去哪裡! 背負著鏞記第三代出來創業,去年又摘下米其林一星,排隊人潮到現在還挺多的,雖然這家離我辦公室不遠,但卻從沒踏足進去過,但上禮拜的一天,我想下午兩點鐘,人潮應該散去了吧? 大錯特錯!
Whenever I have guests in town, I love taking them to eat roast goose. However, where to take them for that juicy tender meat has become a real problem lately. Yung Kee is a tourist trap, Yat Luk’s staff is horrendously rude, I simply ran out of options. I’ve always wanted to try Kam’s Roose Goose in Wanchai, owned by the second son from the Yung Kee family who left to start his own business. Last year, it received a Michelin star and the crowd in front of the shop just hasn’t gone away. It’s near my office but I’ve never been. So one day last week, I thought there should be no more lining up by 2pm, I was dead wrong.
一看到在外面等候的人群,我就決定要拿外賣走。 我點了一碗燒鵝河粉湯,港幣五十ㄧ塊,雖然比一般的燒臘店都還要貴,可是人家是米其林一星,應該會挺值回票價的,點了餐之後,乖乖的在外面等著我的午餐。
After seeing the crowd waiting outside, even though I’m not sure how long is the que for 1 dining in guest, I decided to take it to go. It was $51 dollars for a Roast Goose Ho Fen (flat noodles). Alright, 20% more than what I usually pay but that Michelin Star they have tells me that it doesn’t come cheap. I’m hoping that my lunch lives up to its reputation and price tag.
沒過了多久,我的票號就被叫到了,我看了看塑膠袋,鵝肉和河粉跟湯是分開裝的,就已經讓我覺得對它的信心大增,因為我最討厭的就是叫外賣的時候,湯跟麵被打包在一起,要吃的時候,湯汁都被麵條吸完了,很令人掃興。 我迫不及待的拿回辦公室去大快朵頤!
Shortly after, my number was called. I looked at the take out, andthey packed the soup separately from the noodles and the meat. It was a sign of good things to come. I mean, who likes eating lukewarm soggy soup noodle?
掀開蓋子更是令我興奮! 兩排滿滿的鵝肉,我數了一下,總共有十塊! 十塊肉耶! 你知道這在香港是多難得嗎? 雖然青菜少得可憐,但是十塊香噴噴的鵝肉讓我在辦公室呼叫同事們一起來見證這難得的景象!
I was so happy about the 10 pieces of fatty, juicy goose meat inside the lunch box. Usually, you’re lucky if you get 5. Kam’s definitely really gives you your money’s worth.
這就不用多解釋了,很霸氣的厚厚一片鵝肉,光是看照片就讓人垂涎三尺,香嫩多汁,超好吃的!
It was that mouth watering good. Meaty, Fatty, Juicy and Tender. I’ll just leave at that.
雖然比我平常的午餐貴,但是CP 值超高的,下次我想犒賞自已,或是有朋友從國外來找我,我會再次光臨。
It’s more than my usual lunch but it was definitely worth the price tag. Next time, if I’m in the mood to give myself a treat, or have friends visiting from out of town, this will be the new spot to impress them.
Kam’s Roast Goose 甘牌燒鵝

***Update**** 這個週末兩位手帕交從台北來給我一個驚喜,她們上飛機回台北之前,先帶她們去這邊嚐嚐好滋味。 早上十一點半,還沒開門,門口就已經有人在排隊,剛好我們一開始排,店的大門就開了,更順利搶到最後一個桌子,立馬點了一桌子的菜,全部臘味都點來嚐嚐,包括燒鵝,烤乳豬,叉燒,燒肉,油雞,臘腸,每一個都超級美味的,好友們吃的讚不絕口,米其林一顆星名不虛傳。 更值得一提的是,店裡服務人員的態度很好,點菜時也都耐心解釋,更不會像另外一家米其林一星的燒鵝店(一樂)嫌你吃飯慢,叫你快點吃快點走! 下次要來吃的時候,記得要在開門前 (11:30) 提早點到,就不用在外面等太久!
I put the restaurant to the test today when I had two out of town guests visiting. We got to Kam’s at 11:25 and saw the long line outside. It turns out that the restaurant was about to open. So we got in line quickly and luckily got a table when the door promptly opened at 11:30am. We ordered just about everything on the roast meat menu, suckling pig, roast pork, soy sauce chicken, and of course, roast goose. Everything was delicious! From the food, to the presentation, the restaurant really is worthy of a Michelin Star. Today the service staff was great as well. The server who took our order was patient with our questions and answered them with a smile. I had a terrible experience at the other Michelin Star roast goose place – Yat Lok – where the staff rudely asked me to stop chatting with my friends and quickly finish eating so they can turn the table. That was the last time I ate there. So my new favorite roast goose place is Kam’s and My friends enjoyed it a lot. I was happy to see the smile on my guests’ faces and their empty plates. So next time when bringing guests over, try getting there before the door opens to avoid the wait.
