The last working day at Cannes, I decided to make a half day trip to Monte Carlo, Monaco with a friend because I’ve always wanted to go.  Plus, I’ve always wanted to know if it’s just like the movie scenes from my favourite James Bond movie “Casino Royale”.  Well, it wasn’t… probably because I didn’t go to any casinos, but here are the places I did go to.

在坎城影展閉冪那天，老闆特赦我們當天下午四點半才要開工，當然是因為閉幕典禮之後，還有漫漫長夜的一整晚工作等著我們，但是抓住半天的時間，我和一位遠從香港而來的朋友，起了個大早，準備啟程到摩納哥去，因為從來沒去過，想看看是否蒙地卡羅就像電影裡頭般的美麗！

It was a busy time of the year because of Formula One.  You can hear that buzzing sound of the race cars drives by in top speed.  It seemed like a charming, beautiful little town that’s having a huge street party.  The mood was festival and cheerful with lots of vendors selling clothing, merchandises with automobile brand logos.  No, this is nothing like “Casino Royale”.

搭了一個半小時的火車，我們終於抵達了摩納哥。因為當天正好是F1 賽車的最後一天，街上擠滿了遊客和車迷。街道的兩旁排滿了販賣週邊商品的小販，也有一些熱狗和啤酒啤酒攤。  賽車的車道被高高的木板擋了起來，雖然看不到賽車，但是可以聽到車子高速呼嘯而過的聲音。其實對我們女生而言，不是有太多吸引力，但是家裡有個五歲的小男孩，我還是買了一些 t-shirt 回去孝子。

After lunch, we hiked up a small hill and along the way was able to get a glimpse of the Monte Carlo Harbour.  From what I can see, it was breathtaking.

午餐後，我們爬上了一段小小的山坡，途中我高舉起了相機拍下了沿海的照片，真是隨手一拍都像明信片裡的風景。

The Prince’s Palace rests on the top of the hill, and across from the plaza are hotels, shops and restaurants.

山頂上除了有摩納哥王宮和廣場之外 ，對面有商店，餐廳和飯店 。

With the race going on nearby, our schedule was just as rushed.  It was buy buy buy, and snap snap snap with our photos.  After we took photos at the plaza, it was almost time to go back to Cannes.  We walked back to the train station, and ran for the train just in time for it to take me back to work.

五個小時走馬看花的行程真的很趕！  不是訓練有素的觀光客真的做不來，不過我們兩個人在短短五個小時之內，吃了一頓飯，買了兩大袋戰利品，拍了無數張到此一遊照片。要離開時，走到火車站時，看到火車快要離站，兩個人拎著大包小包的快跑過去，搭上車之後，火車才慢慢開走，我們還在那上氣不接下氣的問旁邊的人『這火車是要到坎城吧？』  不過這麼美的城市，值得下次再跟家人回來，細細品嘗它安靜的美。
